New paintings for Perceival

Hi there - One of the things I've been doing is preparing for this group show "artifact-metafact" in Queens. More on that later, but now I just wanted to post some images up here (there's someone I promised to get them up for...)

These are all going to be in the show - they are all 7 1/2 inches square, gouache. (That's a hard word to spell yo!)

As always, click to enlarge!

Gouache - a kind of paint - basically opaque watercolor. Sounds like "gwash."

Gw sound is rare but dear to me for like duh reasons.

Welcome back! Do we play "What is it?" with these? One of them is definitely Mount Fuji taking a drink from one of the nearby "Fuji Five Lakes."

ohh! ooohhh!!!
This is gonna be a cool show!!!
I like the fuji one. These are really well done. Could you explain why the common forms?? Is there a strict series type element to this?? Will they be organized by the shapes?? Like, will the ones that are circle based be with each other??

I guess you will answer all these questions in a later post, but here's another... how many tiles total??

Hi Individual Frog!
Hi Guild of Birthdays!
I love comments!

Yes, you may certainly play "what is it" with these. Yes yes.

How are you doing I.F.? You are certainly a better communicator than I am! Gomen ne!

No G.o.B., I was NOT planning to answer those questions. I think I counted 42 tiles today. It IS a series. It IS organized by shape, but not so simply as circles next to each other. Although the circles will be next to each other. Maybe you will see it on Monday.

I will hang the show on Monday.

I like. Especially the fifth one down; it's harder to explain as it were.
